Jane Leavy is the founder and director of Med Expert Witness, acting as an informed liaison between the client and medical expert for over 20 years. Ms. Leavy’s dual professions as both a Registered Nurse and a Medical Malpractice trial attorney contribute to her ability to assist Med Expert Witness clients with their case evaluation, consultation, analysis of the medical/legal issues and making recommendations as dictated by the individual needs of the client. Ms. Leavy personally assigns all experts to cases after thorough discussions and screening procedures with the client to determine the most appropriate expert(s) for their case, along with the assistance of the medical staff consultants consisting of physicians and nurses. The administrative staff of Med Expert Witness also assist in the coordination, scheduling and communications between the client and the medical experts.

Ms. Leavy continues to be actively involved in the practice of law in the state of Florida in consultation with clients and medical malpractice and personal injury case evaluation, which contributes to her ability to offer Med Expert Witness clients the highest level of expertise in medical expert witness referrals.

Ms. Leavy completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Miami graduating Cum Laude and received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. She has practiced as a Registered Nurse in the areas of adult medical/surgical nursing, home health care, public health, pediatrics, orthopedics, nursing home care and specialized in the area of Emergency Medicine. She served as Emergency Department representative on the Peer Review Committee at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, New York. She has practiced nursing and held nursing licenses in New York, Illinois, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Florida.

Ms. Leavy previously interned and collaborated with Austin Kutscher, D.D.S. in research studies concerning the role of Thanatology in cancer patients at Columbia University School of Dentistry in New York, New York.

Ms. Leavy received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law, Miami, Florida in 1987. She held the position of Secretary of the Health-Law Society, participated in the Trial Advocacy Program and was a Certified Legal Intern at the Office of the State Attorney, Sexual Battery Division, Miami, Florida.

Ms. Leavy was admitted to The Florida Bar and has been an active member in good standing since 1988. Currently Ms. Leavy is co-counsel in legal cases specializing in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, product liability and general tort litigation.

Ms. Leavy was born and raised in Oceanside, New York, and has resided in Florida since 1984. She is active in her community and is currently involved in many volunteer activities. She is also the proud mother of a daughter who is currently a Medical Malpractice attorney practicing in Chicago, Illinois.
